About Jai Vakeel Foundation:

• Established 79 years ago, Jai Vakeel Foundation is the oldest and largest non-profit serving children with intellectual disabilities. It provides services to over 3000 individuals annually with conditions such as autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and hearing or visual impairments.

About Disha Abhiyan:

• Disha Abhiyan is a collaborative initiative with the Department of Social Justice, Maharashtra, to implement a standardized curriculum and assessment methods for children with intellectual disabilities. The program operates in all 36 districts of Maharashtra and focuses on training schools.

Job Role:

• Position: Disha Coordinator (Special Educator)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement the Disha curriculum in all Special ID Schools within assigned districts.
2. Monitor and evaluate the program by visiting schools regularly.
3. Liaison with District Social Welfare Officers, school principals, and other coordinators to ensure smooth operation.
4. Quickly resolve field issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
5. Coordinate training and activities at assigned schools.
6. Report program progress to the State Coordinator and Project Head.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: B.Ed/M.Ed in Mental Retardation (Special Education).
• Experience: 2-4 years of work experience.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in Marathi and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Good computer skills.
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and willingness to travel.
