The Skill India Mission is one of the flagship projects of Government of India launched under the inspirational leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to create convergence across sectors and states for youth empowerment.
To achieve the vision of ‘Skilled India’, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Union Cabinet Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and MoP&NG, Government of India, has strongly urged on all the stakeholders to focus on “scaling up and speeding the Skill India Mission”. And he took great interest in developing skill sets in the Hydrocarbon sector. It is under his dynamic leadership that MoP&NG in 2016, took initiatives to setup several Skill Development Institutes for skill training of unemployed and under privileged youth.
As part of the mission, a Skill Development Institute (SDI) has been set up at Ahmedabad, Gujarat as a CSR Initiative of ONGC in association with other Oil PSEs (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, OIL, GAIL, EIL & Balmer Lawrie) to provide skill development to needy and unemployed youth.
The pilot training centre is located at Adalaj on Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Highway. The training centre has in the campus of Shri Jagannath Temple, where trainees are undergoing skill training with the blessing of Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu.
In the Phase-1, First Three batches training were launched on 1st November 2017 with the capacity of 90 in 3 different trades as a pilot basis. Further, SDI Ahmedabad set a target to train 780 needy and unemployed youth and make them employable in FY 2018-19.

Aspire Disruptive Skill (ADS) Foundation was selected as Training Partner through an EOI and selection process based on the quality infrastructure, SSC affiliations, faculty profile training credential to implementation and function of SDI Ahmedabad.
