31 Candidates Competing for Each Teaching Post in Vizianagaram: Women Lead the Numbers

In a remarkable display of interest in government teaching jobs, a total of 18,001 candidates have applied for 583 teaching posts in Vizianagaram district, as per the DSC 2025 notification. This translates to a fierce competition of 31 applicants per post, underlining the high demand for secure teaching careers in Andhra Pradesh.
Women Outnumber Men in Applications
According to official sources, women have outnumbered men in applications, reflecting a strong interest among female candidates to enter the teaching profession. A total of 31,038 applications have been filed, with many candidates applying for multiple posts — typically two or three each.
DSC Exam Schedule and Key Dates
The Mega DSC 2025 notification was released on April 20, 2025, following the formation of the new state government. The last date to apply was May 15, and hall tickets will be available for download starting May 30.
The DSC written exam will be held in online mode from June 6 to July 6, 2025. After the exam concludes, the final answer key will be released, and objections will be accepted before the merit list is announced.
Demand for Extended Preparation Time
Several unemployed aspirants have requested the government to extend the preparation period to 90 days, citing the short interval between notification and exam. Others are calling for the removal of the normalization system and want a single-paper format for transparency and fairness.
TET 2023 Recap
To recall, during the previous YSRCP regime, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) was held from October 3 to 21, 2023, with results released shortly after. In that cycle, 22,890 candidates applied, and 20,354 appeared for the exam in Vizianagaram district. Roughly 50% of the test-takers qualified, according to officials.
Coaching Craze in Full Swing
As the DSC exam date nears, aspirants are putting in long hours at coaching centers and public libraries. Many are also opting for online coaching and home-based preparation, indicating the seriousness of candidates in securing these limited yet coveted posts.
