Ceasefire Violations by Pakistan: India’s Firm Response and Strategic Message to the World
details

Breaking News: Ceasefire Breach by Pakistan Within Hours of Agreement

In a dramatic turn of events, Pakistan violated the recently announced ceasefire agreement just hours after it was declared on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The agreement, brokered by former US President Donald Trump, was intended to halt all military activity between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. However, multiple ceasefire violations in Jammu & Kashmir and Gujarat were reported shortly after the pact was confirmed.

The Ceasefire Announcement: A Ray of Hope

At 5:25 PM IST, Donald Trump announced on his social platform, Truth Social, that a full and immediate ceasefire had been agreed upon after intense US mediation. This was later confirmed by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

“India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both countries on using common sense and great intelligence.” – Donald Trump

Violations Begin: Drones, Explosions, and Escalation

Despite the agreement, reports soon emerged of explosions in Srinagar and drone activity across Jammu & Kashmir and parts of Gujarat. By 8:53 PM, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah posted on social media:

“What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar.”

Shortly after, he added: “This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up.”

India’s Strong Statement: “This is a Breach”

Speaking at 11 PM, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri declared:

“There have been repeated violations… This is a breach of the understanding. Armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate response.”

India reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on border violations and emphasized its right to respond decisively to any provocation.

India’s Defense Stand: “Decisive Response to Misadventures”

At a Ministry of Defence press briefing, Commodore Raghu R. Nair stated:

“Every misadventure by Pakistan has been met with strength. We are fully operationally ready for any required operations.”

India also clarified that although the ceasefire was agreed upon, all diplomatic pressures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, remain in effect.
