Salary:Rs. 25,000 per month after confirmation post-probation.

Eligibility:

Academic:
- Minimum undergraduate degree in any discipline.
- B.Ed. preferred but not compulsory.
Work Experience:
- Minimum two years of full-time work experience in teaching/primary education/basic literacy.
- Experience in a grassroots environment with marginalized students is preferred but not compulsory.

Job Description:

The Basic Literacy Educator at Shakti Shalini will combine grassroots and intersectional feminist intervention with basic literacy education. The role involves teaching English, Hindi, and Math to individuals aged 16 and above. The educator will work with students from diverse backgrounds, varying in age, competency, and educational levels, often in resource-constrained settings.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing literacy modules, maintaining gender-sensitive teaching methods, managing classroom dynamics, and ensuring holistic support for students. The educator will also be responsible for regular documentation, monitoring, and evaluation of students' progress, and will engage with students' families and communities to support their overall development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Implement basic literacy modules with a focus on feminist ethics and awareness.
Upgrade curriculum to be more gender-sensitive and conduct regular sensitization sessions.
Manage enrollment, classroom dynamics, and ensure documentation is up to date.
Monitor and evaluate students' progress, both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Engage in community outreach, including home visits and parent-teacher meetings.
Work closely with the KVK Coordinator, Prevention Interventionist, and Operations Lead.

Necessary Skills:

Proficiency in teaching basic literacy, especially in Hindi and English.
Strong classroom management, communication, and facilitation skills.
Ability to document, collate data, and compile reports efficiently.
Commitment to gender equality, addressing violence, and intersectional grassroots activism.
Creative, sensitive, non-judgmental, and capable of maintaining composure under stress.
