Roles & Responsibilities for Associate Software Engineer – Data Engineer
As an Associate Software Engineer – Data Engineer at GroundTruth, you will:
- Build and operate multiple data pipelines for the GroundTruth platform, ensuring data is processed reliably and efficiently across different services and products.
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Client Services and other teams to troubleshoot data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Create robust data infrastructure for extracting, transforming and loading data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS “big data” technologies.
- Write detailed requirements and low-level designs for data pipeline components and related systems.
- Support the product once it goes live, helping to monitor performance, resolve issues and ensure smooth operation of data flows.
- Test the product and data pipelines in real, controlled situations prior to production releases.
- Suggest improvements and enhancements for the location platform and associated data systems based on your observations and analysis.
Skills Required for Associate Software Engineer – Data Engineer
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on work in Data Engineering.
- Education: B.Tech / B.E / M.Tech / MCA or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
- AWS Stack: Experience with AWS services used in data engineering such as EC2, S3, EMR, ECS, Lambda and Step Functions.
- Programming: Hands-on experience with Java / Python for orchestrating data pipelines and data engineering tasks.
- Data Pipelines: Experience building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines.
- Workflow Orchestration: Practical experience using Airflow (or a similar tool) for scheduling and managing data workflows.
- SQL: Ability to write analytical queries using SQL to extract insights and support downstream analytics.
