Job Description:
HSBC is hiring a Datastage Consultant who will be responsible for delivering bug-free DataStage, Unix Shell Scripts, and SQL code. The role involves close collaboration with business, testing teams, and other internal technical teams. The consultant will support existing applications and design new ones, working as part of an agile team to solve complex problems and innovate within the product area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver bug-free DataStage, Unix Shell Scripts, and SQL code.
- Collaborate closely with business, testing, and internal technical teams.
- Work with QA team to complete system tests and system integration testing.
- Support and design new applications while supporting existing ones.
- Participate in technical innovation within the product area.
- Support production issues and provide resolutions.
- Improve processing performance.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Hands-on experience in DataStage, Unix Scripting, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- 3 to 5 years of experience with ETL projects (DataStage).
- Expert in writing and debugging Unix Shell Scripts.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in DataStage development.
- Recent experience with the DataStage tool.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle aggressive timelines and juggle multiple projects and responsibilities.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues.
- Familiarity with schedulers to manage and automate data workflows (e.g., ControlM).
Good to Have Skills:
- Previous experience in sanction screening.
- Exposure to DevOps and Agile methodology.
- Practical experience using Jira, Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, ServiceNow (Change Management).
