I. Position Information

- Duration of the Contract: 6 months (with no possibility of extension)
- Supervisor: Head, Action for Climate and Environment Unit & GCF Focal Point, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change
II. Organizational Context
A. Background of the Project
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme assists developing countries in strengthening their institutional capacities, governance mechanisms, and planning frameworks towards a long-term climate action agenda. The project aims to institutionalize climate finance in India by enabling Direct Access Entities (DAEs), State Governments/Union Territories (UTs), and private sector entities to effectively manage and deploy climate finance in alignment with national priorities.
III. Job Purpose and Scope of Work
A. Main Purpose
UNDP and MoEF&CC seek the services of a Project Support Assistant to provide project management support and facilitate liaison between MoEF&CC & UNDP.
B. Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support for organizing regular and ad-hoc meetings with stakeholders.
- Prepare meeting minutes and summaries of action points.
- Draft routine correspondence, briefing notes, documents, and reports.
- Provide administrative support for conferences and workshops organized by MoEF&CC.
- Coordinate and prepare documentation and background notes for meetings.
- Prepare briefing packages and collect background information on external partners.
- Track progress on agreed issues and follow up on deadlines and actions taken.
- Serve as a liaison for logistic and operational processes between MoEF&CC and stakeholders.
- Maintain and organize up-to-date files and documentation.
- Perform any other relevant duties as required by MoEF&CC.
IV. Institutionl Arranagement – Reporting Structure
The Project Management Support Assistant will report to the Head – Action for Climate and Environment Unit and the GCF Focal Point, Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, New Delhi.
V. Qualifications and Competencies
Min. Academic Education
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, development studies, or a related field with at least 4 years of related experience.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, development studies, or a related field is preferable.
Min. Years of Relevant Work Experience
- At least 4 years of relevant secretarial, administrative, and operational experience.
- At least 4 years of experience working with the Government/Ministries is essential.
Required Skills
- Experience with office equipment and software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience in handling web-based management systems.
Required Language(s)
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
